“House To Vote On Broad Wilderness Package”

“The House this week will vote on legislation that would create nearly 1.4 million acres of new wilderness in the West.

The six-bill package would designate large swaths of land in California, Colorado and Washington state as wilderness or potential wilderness intended for further study.

The latest bundle of Natural Resources Committee bills follows the panel's coastal resiliency package that passed the House in December.

Chairman Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.) has said the packages are part of a larger push by Democratic leadership to bring to the floor expeditiously natural resources-themed legislation that advances out of committee.”
